About the coffee
This exceptional coffee comes from the Shyira Washing Station in Rwanda’s Nyabihu District, one of the country’s most remarkable coffee-growing regions. Situated at 1,850 meters above sea level, Shyira is known as the highest coffee washing station in Rwanda, benefiting from cool temperatures, volcanic soils, and unique high-altitude microclimates.
For this lot, carefully selected Red Bourbon cherries undergo natural anaerobic processing, creating a cup that is both vibrant and complex. Expect expressive notes of passion fruit, blackberry, nougat, and subtle rum-like sweetness, supported by a rich, syrupy body and lively acidity.
Founded in 2017, Shyira has become a symbol of quality, innovation, and community development. Through farmer support initiatives and extensive seedling programs, the station has helped strengthen coffee production throughout the region while showcasing the extraordinary potential of Rwandan specialty coffee.
Tasting Notes: Passion Fruit, Blackberry, Nougat, Rum
